Installation process
The eSIM is an electronic SIM card with which you can activate the cellular data plan provided by your carrier without the need to use a physical nano-SIM card. Learn how to set up an eSIM, how to transfer your SIM, what to do if you can’t set one up, and how to delete an eSIM if you ever need to.
- Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile > Add cellular/mobile plan.
- Scan the QR code.
- Click on āAdd cellular planā.
- Label the eSIM: āSimlimitesā.
- Choose the preferred default line to call or send messages.
- Choose the preferred line to use with iMessage, FaceTime and Apple ID.
- Choose the eSIM plan as the default line for Cellular Data and do not activate āAllow Cellular Data Switchingā to avoid charges on your other line.
- Your eSIM has been successfully installed, please scroll down to view the settings to access the data.
- Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile Data > Add eSIM or Set up cellular/mobile service > Use QR code on your device.
- Scan the QR code available in the Airalo app, tap āContinueā twice and wait a moment. Your eSIM will connect to the network, this may take a few minutes, then tap āDoneā.
- Choose a label for your new eSIM plan.
- Choose āPrimaryā for your default line, then click āContinueā.
- Choose the āPrimaryā you want to use with iMessage and FaceTime for your Apple ID, then click āContinueā.
- Choose your new eSIM plan for mobile data and tap āContinueā.
- An iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR or higher model.
Google Pixel
Installation process
- Go to āSettingsā, tap āNetwork and Internetā, then tap ā(+)ā next to the SIM/Mobile Network section; if it is not available, tap āSIM/Mobile Networkā on your device.
- Click āDownload a SIM instead?ā and then click āNextā.
- ClickāUse a different networkā if you need to confirm your network.
- Scan the QR code and then click āDownload/Activateā.
- PressāSettings/Doneā when you see the finished download screen.
Samsung
Installation process
If your Samsung series phone that includes an eSIM that works as a SIM card. You can use the mobile network after activating the eSIM or install a nano SIM card. To activate an eSIM, follow the steps below:
Launch the Settings application and select Connections.
Select SIM Card Manager.
Step 3. Select Add Mobile Plan.
Step 4. When a mobile data service is detected, follow the on-screen instructions to activate the eSIM.
